A kiss laced with poison
A stencil traced horizon
The beauty of disguise
Is another word for 'lies'

They keep playing those lullabies
That she'll never understand
She faces every waking day
With her heart in hand

Disguised as love at first sight
Was a thief in the day
It doesn't take her by surprise
But it takes her breath away

Eeach heartbeat tempts her to
Abandon her will to survive
Twisted irony in the knowing
It's what's keeping her alive

She bleeds tears of scarlet
That dissolve into debt
She wills for the moments
For the time that she's wept

She looks up to the endless skies
Wonders if it'll ever end

She laughs.

The sun in her smile,
Stars in her eyes,
Linger a while,
Then return to the skies.

In one moment the sun disappeared
And the stars failed to grace the sky
In one moment only silence is heard
As they watched their only light die

One Seat

One seat on the bus
One seat in election
One voice amidst
One human section

Romeo and Juliet

When Romeo saw her across the floor
Was it love at first sight or another closed door
That forbade him through

When Juliet stood from the balcony
What made her fall, true love or gravity
Into a distant lullaby

When Romeo gently took her breath
Did he know he'd sung her into her death
Or blithely refused to believe it true

When Juliet whispered 'death do us part'
Didn't she know he already had her heart
He wasn't the first one to die

When Romeo saw her, pale as dead
He gave his soul to take her stead
It was no longer his to give

When Juliet saw her lover dead by knife
Who had all of her, except her life
And with him false will to live

Was there ever a tale of such woe
As of Juliet and her Romeo?
